It started with tea parties. I was about three years old when my flair for event planning first surfaced. There would not be a toy tea set at my play table. I wanted my mother’s fine china, her linens, her tasty treats (my favourite petit fours) showcased on beautiful, tiered cake plates. Fortunately, my mother obliged on many occasions. When I think back, that may have been the seed that started off my growing love of events.
My background is in customer service, operations and the hospitality industry. I am very experienced in coaching, giving direction, scheduling and handling stressful situations.
I have always made a big deal out of special occasions . . . from the décor to the food to getting dressed up – especially getting dressed up! Everyone who knows me, knows that I am a lover of all things pretty and sparkly. However, I have an appreciation for all types of styles and work efficiently and effectively within my clients’ budgets.
I embarked on my wedding and event planner journey prior to getting married. My own 250-person outdoor wedding that I fully created, designed and facilitated . . . fueled my desire even more to venture into this industry. I absolutely love weddings. They always make me cry!
No event is too big or too small! I pour my passion and full attention into every project. Whether your event is a wedding, birthday party, corporate function etc., my goal is to create a memorable impact. Lasting impressions are important, and I strive to leave your guests talking about your function and how much they enjoyed the mood, the food and atmosphere. But most importantly, I want my clients to feel like VIPs at their own events.
As my event planning career progressed, I started to become very interested in adding wedding florist to my repertoire. I was so inspired by all the talented florists that I was working with. Florals alone can transform a space and its vibe into something magical. So, I then embarked on a 6-week floral course to understand the basics and design fundamentals. I have not since looked back!
